FAQs
Everything you need to know before the game begins.
The questions asked most often by would-be guests — answered plainly, so the only surprises that remain are the ones we intend.
The Game
What you'll actually be doing once the doors close behind you.
What is Treachery at Rockfield House?
Reveal
Treachery at Rockfield House is an immersive social deduction evening set within a stunning Georgian estate in Kells, Co. Meath. Your group is divided into Faithful guests and secret Traitors. Each night, the Traitors eliminate a player. Each day, the group votes to banish someone they suspect. The Faithful win if they root out the Traitors before it's too late. The Traitors win if they survive to the end.
No experience required. No prior knowledge needed. Just sharp instincts and a willingness to question everyone around you.
Do I need to have watched Traitors on TV?
Reveal
Treachery at Rockfield House is its own original experience — not a licensed adaptation of any television programme. Whether you arrive having never heard of the format or with years of the show under your belt, the playing field is level. What you need at the table is instinct, not prior knowledge.
Do I need to be good at games or performance to enjoy this?
Reveal
Not at all. Treachery rewards observation, conversation, and instinct — not performance. If you can hold a conversation, you can play.
I'm not usually a “games person.” Is this still for me?
Reveal
Yes. Treachery is less about winning and more about the evening itself — the atmosphere, the intrigue, the conversations you didn't expect to have. Many guests come for the experience and leave having barely thought about the rules. If you enjoy good company and a memorable night out, that is more than enough.
Is it too intense or overwhelming?
Reveal
The atmosphere is theatrical and immersive, but it is not frightening. The tension comes entirely from the people around you — the suspicion, the alliances, the quiet betrayals. You are in a beautiful Georgian house with a group of people, playing a game together. Most guests describe it as the most fun they have had at a group event in years.
What do winners receive?
Reveal
Throughout the evening, your group has the opportunity to earn gold by completing tasks. Winners can redeem their gold for prizes or items from the 0.0 Bar at the end of the night.
The Evening
What to expect from the moment you arrive until the doors close behind you.
What happens during the evening?
Reveal
The game unfolds across a series of challenges, votes, and dramatic reveals. You will move through different spaces within Rockfield House as the game progresses. Some moments will be tense. Some will be surprisingly funny. All of it is guided by your host.
We won't tell you everything in advance — part of the experience is not knowing quite what comes next.
How long does the evening last?
Reveal
Approximately two and a half to three hours, including welcome, briefing, gameplay, and the final reveal. Exact timings depend on your group and how the evening unfolds — no two nights are the same.
What should I wear?
Reveal
There is no formal dress code. Come dressed however you feel most comfortable and most yourself — the house will do the rest.
Can I drink during the evening?
Reveal
A 0.0 bar is on site, including a selection of speciality mocktails — many of which are designed to be enjoyed with a spirit of your choosing. There are no alcohol sales on site, however you are welcome to bring your own. While there are no drinks allowed at the Roundtable, fear not as you are more than welcome to return to the bar after the game is over. In fact, this post-match analysis is a highlight for many of our guests!
No meal is included with your ticket.
What if someone needs to leave early?
Reveal
This is no problem. In the unlikely event that a guest needs to leave for any reason, it will not disrupt the experience for the rest of the group. Your host will handle it discreetly.
If you have a question that does not appear here,

Guests & Groups
Can I come on my own or is this just for groups?
Reveal
Absolutely, and you are actively encouraged to. Public events run on scheduled dates and are open to individuals, couples, and groups of up to 12. Arriving without knowing anyone else at the table is not a disadvantage — it is, for many guests, what makes the night.
What about larger private groups?
Reveal
Private table bookings for groups of 12 to 16 are available by enquiry. For groups larger than 18, we may divide guests across multiple tables to keep the experience at its best — get in touch and we will advise on the right format for your group.
Is this good for a corporate group or team event?
Reveal
Exceptionally so. Treachery puts everyone on equal footing regardless of title or tenure. It demands communication, reading people, and making decisions under pressure — the same skills that matter in any workplace. Teams leave having seen each other in an entirely new light.
Is it suitable for a celebration — birthday, hen party, reunion?
Reveal
Very much so. If your group enjoys good conversation and a little healthy suspicion, this evening was made for you.
Is it suitable for people who don't know each other?
Reveal
It is ideal for it. In fact, mixed groups of strangers often produce the most entertaining evenings. There is something about not knowing someone's tells that makes the deduction genuinely unpredictable.
What is the age requirement?
Reveal
Guests must be 15 or over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
